About Us About Fountains

Proud to be part of our community.

At Fountains, we believe we have a duty of care not only to our families but also to the community that we are part of. Because education is empowering, we aim to build awareness of the work we do and seek to give people a better understanding of the choices they have available.

We are also regular sponsors of various community groups. We also host annual memorial services, inviting our community to visit our chapel and light candles in memory of their loved ones and open our monthly bereavement support group to anyone in need.

What is FDANZ?

The Funeral Directors Association of New Zealand (FDANZ) is an association of funeral directing companies carrying out the majority of funerals in New Zealand. They are a group of caring professionals who are committed to ensuring that the families they serve receive high quality service.

Our History

Fountains has been part of the South Auckland community since it was founded by Lambert and Tresnor Fountain in the early 1960s. The original premises were on Station Road, Papakura before moving to Great South Road, where Lambert Fountain passed away in 1984.

At that stage Tresnor moved to the current Elliott and Wood Street premises in Papakura and made extensive alterations to personally transform the building into a funeral home. Over the years we have grown in size and staff and now offer full funeral services for the wider South Auckland area – including Franklin.
